Nature’s Best Features Daniel’s Work with Panasonic Lumix

Without a doubt, the most beautiful nature magazine in publication today is Nature’s Best. Daniel’s work has appeared in Nature’s Best a couple of times over the past 20 years —a polar bear cover and other incidental images as well as the winner of the Landscape division in Nature’s Best 2002/2003 annual photo contest.

The world of image creation has changed dramatically in the past five years and Daniel is now using Lumix Micro Four Thirds cameras that not only capture stunning still photos but equally spectacular 4K video footage you can pull 8-megapixel stills from. Daniel has been predicting the convergence of stills and video for at least ten years, and he’s now using it with the Lumix GH4, GX8, G7, and other Lumix bodies on a continual basis. Along with the Nature’s Best showcase, Panasonic also ran an advertisement for their new Leica 100-400mm zoom. Daniel shot the image Wings of Power for the 100-400mm worldwide release. The Leica 100-400mm along with the Lumix GX8 did a fabulous job with the difficulties of capturing critically focused pictures of birds in flight coming straight at the camera.

Daniel J. Cox Biography

Daniel’s wide range of accomplishments include being a regular contributor to natural history publications worldwide, a field contributor for Outdoor Photographer, a consultant for Hewlett Packard fine art printers, an honorary “Nikon Legend Behind the Lens,” NANPA’s 2013 Outstanding Photographer of the Year, and is currently part of the Panasonic Lumix Luminary team. His most personally satisfying accomplishments include two cover stories, Snowy Owl and Great Gray Owl, for National Geographic Magazine as well as his current volunteer work as Director of the Arctic Documentary Project for Polar Bears International.
