Apple Updates Camera RAW for Aperture and iPhoto
Last night Apple updated the RAW image capabilities for Aperture and iPhoto by releasing a software update for the following cameras.
- Canon EOS 70D
- Fujifilm X-M1
- Leica M
- Leica M Monochrom
- Nikon Coolpix P330
- Pentax 645D
- Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1R
- Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 II
To get the updates just go to your Software Update below the Apple in the upper left corner of your screen or open your APP program and have it check for updates. It’s great to see Apple continue to update these two programs.
On a different but related subject. Yesterday I downloaded Adobe’s Lightroom 5 to take a peak. I haven’t had a chance to really go through it yet but two of the main reasons I switched over to Aperture was due to the difference’s between Aperture and Lightroom’s downloading process. I checked for changes in Adobe’s inability to create an ongoing, running number for renaming files ingested from your photo card. And unfortunately they still have not added that feature. I’ll be checking for other features in the near future and let you know how it goes.
