Yellowstone Photo Tour 2014 Trip #2 – Day 1
All I can say to begin with is, “Wow, what a difference a couple of days can make.” On our last day in the park for Trip 1 we had a heck of a time finding almost any critters. We drove out to Canyon to photograph the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and it was snowing so hard we couldn’t see the lower falls from Artist’s Point. Amazingly, not a lot was going our way. Our seasoned crew that included Dave and Shiela Glatz, Donald Liu, Mark Greer, James Owen, and Cindy Nafpliotis hung in there and we eventually pulled some images out of the bag.
But as I said above, what a difference a couple of days can make. Today, our first day of the second Yellowstone Winter 2014 Photo Tour, we had coyotes within range, a dusky grouse that showed off like it was on stage, open skies with late evening light for the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the rare and elusive Madison River bobcat. Below is a short slide show of a really great day. I know our first crew will be a bit disappointed and I apologize for mother nature doing what she does best, throwing curve balls, but we had a great trip last week as well.
