As a classically trained percussionist freelancing in Los Angeles, I had a wonderful career performing everything from orchestras to Broadway shows and a lot of motion pictures and TV soundtracks. It was exciting and enjoyable work and I got to work with some of the best film composers in LA. But it was a world that demanded perfection. I started doing photography in the 70's as a way to be creative, but I could make all the mistakes I wanted to, and it didn't affect my paycheck. I began with developing and printing my own black and white (I still have my enlarger), then continued all the way to the current digital cameras and printing. I've retired from percussion, but I still enjoy photography and have been fortunate to travel to and photograph many world destinations.

About DAVID CHANG
Practicing in the medical profession for forty years, I have learnt to pay attention to details and also develop the sense to appreciate the bigger picture. In photography of the nature I can use the same skill not only for the smallest subjects like insects to the grandest like landscape. I always felt I can learn to be a photographer (amateur of course) with self study but with the tour to Iceland, which is my first photography tour with the experts, I have changed my view a lot. I enjoyed very much the professionalism of Dan and the hospitality of Tanya and Jill.

2024 Galápagos Photography Tour by Private Luxury Yacht II
This was the best photo outing I was ever on. Not only was the wildlife abundant and diverse, but the landscapes were ever changing. Dan and Tanya did a wonderful job on this tour, as always, and the yacht and food were great. It did however take about four days for the ground to stop rocking once I got back home.
